As part of their efforts to cater for the rapidly growing demand for power in Dubai and ensure the effectiveness of system operations, the Dubai Electricity and Water Company (DEWA) set plans to install 16 new substations and other miscellaneous equipment across the city.

DAR was commissioned by DEWA to provide complete design and engineering services across civil, architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical works to establish the new infrastructure. The scope of the project includes installing sixteen new 132/11kV substations, 132kV GIS, 11kV SWGR, 132/11kV 50MVA power transformer, 5MVAr  11kV capacitor banks and 10MVAr 132kV reactors. Throughout the course of the project DAR provided technical advisory services to support design and evaluation of vendor options to carry out necessary works.
