IGCC Power Plant
Located Jazan Economic City, the Saudi Aramco 4000 MW Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) Power Plant will be built to supply refinery load, IGCC auxiliary loads and net power of 2400 MW to be exported to Saudi Electricity Company’s grid. Upon completion, the plant will include various features including Air Separation Units (ASU), Gasification Units, Acid Gas Removal (AGR), Sulphur Recovery Units (SRU), as well as a range of systems focused on essential/black start power, utility wastewater treatment, and sea water. The development will also include a tank farm, administration buildings and associated substations.

Services Studies: Load flow, short circuit, transient stability, PV/QV analysis, motor starting, Insulation coordination, ferroresonance, transfer surge analysis and circuit breaker TRV, PSS tuning, Black starts study, Auto reclose study, and sub synchronous study.
System Integration:
EPC packages ETAP models with the EPC-4 package.
This plant is unique since it is using "SYN GAS" as fuel and requires additional controls in the generator governor. Huge synchronous motors of 7 X 60 MW are used for gasification process which are also critical for the system stability requirement.
