Ras Al Khair Power and Desalination Plant
The combined cycle power and desalination plant located in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, is the world's largest hybrid water desalination plant. The development comprises of a five block 2,400 MW power plant and hybrid desalination plant capable of producing 728 million liters of water per day harnessing multistage flashing (MSF) and reverse osmosis (RO) technologies.

DAR was commissioned to provide a full range of design and engineering including civil, HVAC and electrical engineering services to deliver both plants as well as a new 380KV evacuation substation to meet the growing electrical power demand of Saline Water Conversion Corporation and industrial consumers of the city.
The project won "Desalination Plant of the Year" award at the Global Water Awards in 2015.
