The Saline Water Conversion Corporation commissioned DAR to supervise the construction of eight 'satellite' plants across the west coast of the country in Al Wajh, Duba, Farasan, Haqal, Laith, Qunfudah, Shuqaiq and Umluj. The capacity of each plant varies from 8,500 m³/day up to 51,000 m³/day, with a combined total capacity for all of 238,000 m³/day of treated water.
