Yanbu Power & Desalination Plant
The Yanbu Power & Desalination Plant is KSA's first supercritical power plant to operate on heavy fuel. Yanbu III is a 3,300MW dual fuel-fired power plant that is being constructed in western Saudi Arabia, 50km south of the Red Sea-facing city Yanbu al-Bahr.

When fully operational it will be capable of producing 2700 MW of power, feature six 4,500 ton evaporators and treat an incredible 550,000m³ of water a day.
DAR’s expert team was commissioned by Empresarios Agrupados to provide a full range of design and engineering services to deliver the central control room, non-process buildings and electrical network across the development to ensure its effective operation. Specialized services delivered include design of an illumination and lighting protection system, design of the steam turbine building and power supply distribution.
